8 Ways to Rebuilding Your Life

After You Have Hit Rock Bottom

“So I say to you, ask and keep on asking, and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking, and you will find; knock and keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who keeps on asking [persistently], receives; and he who keeps on seeking [persistently], finds; and to him who keeps on knocking [persistently], the door will be opened.” Luk.11:9-10 AMP.

Today, I would like us to look at how to rebuild our lives after we have hit rock bottom. Well, I have observed that when we have come at the end of our rope, we do not have so many options, except for the call to make new decisions that will help us bounce back better.

These decisions come with endless opportunities in that if we choose right, they can be extremely rewarding. Hitting rock bottom, as hard as it is, can be the best tool in assisting us, make new alternative plans, redefine our lives, and redefine our BIG WHY.

I believe the options we consider at this point must lead us to a place of total surrender to God, whereby we allow Him to start our lives afresh, according to His plans, thoughts, and desires.

Since, if we do not quickly come to a place of complete surrender; we place ourselves in a position where we keep on making bad decisions which do not promote a possibility of rising back to life, in that, every area in our lives suffers a natural death experience with no hope of resurrection. Below I have listed ways to help us bounce back.

8 Ways to Rebuild Your Life After You Have Hit Rock Bottom

1. Call on the name of the Lord

That should be our first default setting for every unfavorable situation that comes across our lives. The word of God teaches us that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved, Ro.10:13, and that the name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run to it and are safe, Prov18:10.

The Lord once gave me a vision in a trance, just before I found myself in a rock bottom situation. In this vision, I saw myself taken by the whirlwind. While, in this vision, I started calling on the name of Jesus, and as a result, the whirlwind threw me deep in the ocean; whereby, I saw myself sinking to the point where I could see the shark approaching me with the intent to devour my body.

Although I could not do anything at the time, I did not stop calling on the name of Jesus, up until I felt His hands lifting me up and out of the water; and later on, He laid my body on top of the mountain, where I met the angel, which the Lord used to rescue me from the deep ocean. From this vision, I received a revelation from God, that the name of Jesus releases the ministry of angels to come to our aid. If we are in an urgent situation and call in faith in the name of Jesus, He avails Himself and His angels to us.

2. Trust in The Lord with All Your Heart.

I have also noticed that when we find ourselves in a predicament, we tend to spend an endless amount of time; trying to understand and figure out where we missed it. In most cases, there are no specific answers, except that we end up exposing ourselves to feelings of guilt, shame, and condemnation that retards our walk with God and limit Him from rebuilding our lives again.

According to Proverbs 3:5, we are to trust God with all our hearts and lean not in our understanding; we must learn to acknowledge Him in every situation; in that way, He will establish and direct us in a new path that He has created for us.

3. Casting Down all Imaginations of Past Failures

I have observed that when we are fighting so hard to come back to life, the kind of thoughts we keep can be a huge source of a hindrance. Victory and defeat begin in our minds. We win battles or loose battles in our minds ahead of the natural manifestations.

Therefore, this requires one to stand against all imaginations of past failures, shut down voices of discouragement, 2Cor.10:3. We must learn to guard our minds and our hearts with all diligent. All the issues of life lie in our hearts and minds, Prov.4:23. We must learn to protect ourselves against any form of offenses; we must avoid at all costs, giving and taking offense.

During this time, we must be in harmony and at peace with God, and He will bring peace to all areas of our lives.

4. Laying A Solid Rock Foundation of the Word

Laying a solid rock foundation is possible through the renewing of our minds through the word; by meditating, studying, and confessing specific scriptures that address our situation, Josh.1:8, Ro.12:2. In the world system, they recommend visions boards for any heart desires such as cars, houses, marriages, and some visions boards go as far as putting pictures of money on them.

The word of God warns us not to change ourselves to be like the people of this world but to let God change us inside with a new way of thinking. Then we will be able to understand and accept what God wants for us. We will be able to know what is good and pleasing to Him and what is perfect.

Our type of vision boards comes in the form of scriptures that pertains to what we want to achieve; by allowing God to manifest Himself in an unlimited manner. That is the most significant part of rising again. The word of God plays a crucial role, and there must be willingness and determination to spend adequate time in laying a new foundation of the word of God.
I recommend that you put so many restrictions around yourself, to allow the word of God to take deep root. Even if it means not watching television for a season, cutting the time spent on social media, and telephonic chats that do not promote any form of growth.

5. The Power of Persistence

The Lord Jesus gave us in-depth teaching on this aspect. His disciples wanted to know how to pray. In His response, He taught them and gave them a model prayer, and not only that, but He also taught them about the power of persistence that serves a guarantee in receiving answers to our prayers. Luk.11:1-13.

The Lord told a parable between two friends, whereby a man was not willing to help his friend; However, in the end, the man ended up giving him more than what he wanted because his friend was shamelessly persistent, Luk.11:5-13.

That is an encouragement from the throne of God, not to give up, but to persist until we receive an answer to our prayers.

 6. Take A Leap of Faith

By this time, the Lord has revealed Himself to you, and you probably understand why you are here on earth, and you know what needs to happen from this point onwards, whether it’s a ministry, business, whatever calling the Lord has placed upon your life.

You need to take that giant leap of faith and believe that God is with you and will continue to be with you, helping you live life the way He intended from the beginning, experiencing fruitfulness, multiplication, and increase. The promise that our Lord Jesus has fulfilled to us, which is life in abundance, 2Cor.5:7, Matt.28:20, Gen.1:26, Jon.10:10.

7. Don’t be afraid, Only Believe!

You have now seen the Lord Jesus moving in your situation. You might still encounter the work of the enemy trying to stand against what the Lord is doing in your life, May I encourage you to continue to believe and not allow any form of fear to enter your heart. You have overcome already.

8. Daily affirmations

In the bible, we learn that Abraham strengthened himself while waiting for the fulfillment of the promise, Ro.4:20. We also know that David encouraged himself in the presence of the Lord, during the most trying times in his life, 1Sam.30:6. We also can encourage and strengthen ourselves in the Presence of the Lord by having our daily affirmations. Below are a few examples that we can use and expand on them:

  • I am bouncing back better and remarkably high.
  • The latter glory of my life is greater than the former glory of my life.
  • I will never be broke or poor another day.
  • I am flourishing, succeeding, advancing in life, etc.

May God richly bless your life, and may you continue to only believe until you see the glory of God in your life. Amen.
